The short answer: Monaco is an AI-native CRM with outbound agents and a human sales executive assigned to each customer, and it starts with a $10,000 upfront purchase of usage credits (1,000,000 credits at one cent each), which Monaco says covers about the first three months for most customers. If you want AI outbound without replacing your CRM or prepaying $10,000, the cheaper Monaco alternatives are Sdrs at $49 a month (AI SDR that books meetings into the CRM you already use), AiSDR from $250 a month, or HubSpot Sales Hub paired with an AI SDR. If you want one vendor to own the whole revenue stack and a person helping you sell, Monaco is still the stronger pick.
Monaco came out of stealth in February 2026, led by Sam Blond, a former partner at Founders Fund and former CRO of Brex, and is built for seed and Series A startups whose founders are still doing the selling. It is a serious product with serious backing. It is also a different kind of purchase from a monthly sales tool, which is why founders who get to the pricing page often start searching for alternatives. Below we lay out what Monaco charges, what it does that the alternatives do not, and which option fits which team. Monaco's terms are from its own pricing page, checked on October 8, 2026.

How much does Monaco cost?
Monaco costs $10,000 to start. You pay it once at signature and receive 1,000,000 credits at one cent each, which are drawn down as Monaco builds your total addressable market, tracks buying signals and runs its agents. Monaco says that amount covers roughly the first three months for most customers, which works out to about $3,300 a month. After the credits are used, billing is monthly and pay as you go, based on actual usage.
There are a few things in Monaco's favor here. There are no seat fees and no platform fee, users and agents are unlimited, and Monaco says there is no long-term commitment beyond the first $10,000. A live usage breakdown in the product shows what each category of work costs. What the page does not give you is a fixed monthly number, because the bill depends on how much work the agents do. For a founder budgeting a first sales hire, that is the real question: will the monthly spend after month three look like $1,500 or $6,000? Ask Monaco for an estimate based on your target market before you sign.
What do you get from Monaco that alternatives do not have?
Monaco's main difference is the human. Each customer is paired with a forward deployed sales executive who helps set up the motion, and humans step in on the conversations that close, while the software handles research, account scoring, outreach drafting, reminders, notes and record updates. Most AI SDR tools, Sdrs included, are software you run yourself.
The second difference is scope. Monaco wants to be the system of record: it replaces your CRM, captures emails, calls and meetings automatically, and includes a prospect database, a meeting recorder and website visitor signals. If your company has no CRM yet, or a messy one nobody trusts, getting all of that in one place with someone helping you use it is worth real money. Monaco also reports strong early results from its customers, though those figures are self-reported and the product had no G2 or Capterra reviews when we checked third-party coverage.
Why founders look for a Monaco alternative
Four reasons come up most often.
The upfront commit. $10,000 before you have seen a single booked meeting is a lot for a pre-seed or bootstrapped company, and it is the cost of several months of most AI SDR tools. Teams that want to test outbound for 30 days before committing usually want a monthly plan.
They already have a CRM. If your pipeline lives in HubSpot, Salesforce or Pipedrive with custom fields, reports and integrations, moving to a new system of record is a project of its own. Monaco's CRM is opinionated by design, so a team with a heavily customized setup faces a real migration. An AI SDR that writes meetings into your existing CRM avoids that.
They want a predictable bill. Usage pricing is fair, but it is harder to forecast. A flat monthly plan with set lead and email limits is easier to put in a budget and easier to cancel.
They only need the top of the funnel. Plenty of founders are fine closing their own deals. What they lack is a steady flow of first meetings. For them the database, sequences and booking matter; the CRM and the human executive do not.
When Monaco is still the better choice
Pick Monaco if you are a funded seed or Series A startup with no sales leader, you have the $10,000, and you want someone experienced looking over your shoulder while the AI does the heavy lifting. The forward deployed executive is genuinely hard to replicate with a self-serve tool. Monaco also makes sense if you were going to pick a new CRM anyway, because then the migration cost disappears and you get outbound, notes and pipeline in one product.
Do not pick Monaco just to get an AI SDR. If outbound meetings are the only gap, you would be paying for a CRM switch and a service layer you do not need.
Which Monaco alternative is cheapest?
Sdrs is the cheapest Monaco alternative with AI outbound included, at $49 a month on Starter for the lead database and AI-written email sequences, and $149 a month on Plus, which adds LinkedIn and X steps, phone numbers, call scripts, automatic meeting booking and CRM sync. Pro at $499 a month adds AI voice calls and client workspaces. There is no setup fee and no annual contract, so three months of Plus costs $447 against Monaco's $10,000 starting commit.
The trade-off is that you run it yourself. There is no assigned sales executive, and Sdrs does not replace your CRM; it feeds it. If you want the AI to book meetings and your existing HubSpot or Salesforce to stay the system of record, that is the point. The Monaco alternatives, one by one
Sdrs
An AI SDR for founders and small teams. Describe the companies and titles you want, and it builds the list from a verified B2B database, writes a multi-step sequence, sends from your own domain, sorts the replies and books interested prospects on your calendar. It syncs to HubSpot, Salesforce and Pipedrive on Plus. Best for teams that want first meetings, monthly, without changing their CRM. You can launch a campaign and see the targeting before you pay.
AiSDR
An AI SDR with a published price ladder: Solo at $250 a month for 200 researched contacts, then larger plans billed quarterly. It works over email and LinkedIn with HubSpot sync. A good fit if you want more monthly contacts than an entry plan and are comfortable with quarterly billing once you scale.
HubSpot Sales Hub plus an AI SDR
The safe, boring stack. HubSpot gives you a CRM you can hire salespeople into, with sequences on Professional, and you add an AI tool for prospecting and booking. You pay more in total than a single AI SDR, but nothing about the CRM is unusual, and every future sales hire already knows it.
11x
A managed, high-volume AI SDR from $3,750 a month on an annual contract. It is closer to Monaco in spirit (a vendor that does a lot for you) but without the CRM replacement. Best for funded teams that already know outbound works for them and want scale.
A do-it-yourself stack
A data tool, a sequencer and separate mailboxes, assembled and run by someone on your team. It gives you the most control and the most work. Add an assistant that drafts follow-ups and schedules meetings and files notes after each call, and you have most of the parts Monaco bundles, at the cost of your own time to hold them together.
How to choose between Monaco and an AI SDR
Answer three questions. Do you already have a CRM you want to keep? If yes, an AI SDR is the simpler path. Can you put $10,000 on the table before seeing results? If not, start monthly. Do you want a person helping you build the sales motion, or just more meetings? If it is the person, Monaco earns its price. If it is the meetings, start with an AI SDR for a month, measure booked calls, and decide from real numbers.
Many founders do both in sequence: run a monthly AI SDR while the company finds product market fit, then move to a heavier platform once there is a sales team to support. If you sell into a specific vertical, our pages on SaaS lead generation and the AI appointment setter show how the targeting works in practice.
Frequently asked questions about Monaco alternatives
Does Monaco have a free trial?
Monaco's pricing page does not mention a free trial. It offers a demo request and a get started option, and the paid offer begins with the $10,000 credit commit. Sdrs lets you launch a campaign from its public app page before choosing a plan.
Is Monaco a CRM or an AI SDR?
Both. Monaco describes itself as an AI-native platform that replaces legacy CRM and sales point solutions, so it is the system of record and the outbound engine together, with a human sales executive on top. Most AI SDR tools only handle prospecting and booking and connect to a separate CRM.
Do Monaco credits expire?
Monaco's pricing page says unused credits do not expire month to month. It does not state an overall expiry, so ask for it in writing before you sign.
Can I keep HubSpot or Salesforce with Monaco?
Monaco is designed to replace the CRM rather than sit on top of it, so teams with heavily customized HubSpot or Salesforce setups should plan for a migration. If you want to keep your current CRM, an AI SDR that syncs meetings into it is the lower-effort route.
What is the cheapest alternative to Monaco?
Sdrs at $49 a month is the cheapest alternative with an AI-written outbound sequence and a B2B lead database, billed monthly with no setup fee. Plus at $149 a month adds LinkedIn, phone numbers, meeting booking and CRM sync.
